Kia Ora, Fakalofalahiatu, chomreabsuor, Talofa families and Whanau. My name is Kaveeta Shiriwastow and this is my first year teaching at Clendon Park School. For the past 3 years I have taught at a Primary School in East Auckland that has been part of the Manaiakalani Cluster of Schools as a Digital Immersion Teacher.
I am really looking forward to meeting you all. Please feel free to come into Room 16 for a visit as it is a very welcoming classroom. I am very excited about teaching your children this year and their learning, success and well being is my number one priority. It would be great to see Whanau and family involvement this year in terms of our learning as this will have a great impact on your child’s learning. Below I have listed my expectations for this year. Please do have a read so that you are familiar with them.

E X P E C T A T I O N S

ATTENDANCE – Attendance is monitored every morning and afternoon. It is crucial

that your child attends school every day as it determines their learning growth. Please

ensure that your child comes to school every day. If your child is away from school

please either send a note upon their return or phone the school to let us know about

their absence.

UNIFORM – It is compulsory for your child to wear school uniform every day except for

sport or mufti days. Please ensure you have named your child’s belongings.

SWIMMING- This term we are going swimming as part of our compulsory safety around

water programme. Please could you ensure that your child brings their swimming togs

and their towels with a plastic bag every day. Please ensure that their togs and towel

are also named. If they’re unable to swim students MUST bring a signed note stating

why.

HOMEWORK-Students will be given a homework book that will have their homework

tasks in. Please ensure that your child completes their homework in their homework

book with your support and guidance. They will also be given readers this term with a

notebook reading log that you will have to sign every night. Please could you ensure

that they bring their signed reading log book and readers back every day.

I look forward to meeting you all.
