MOTAT Visit-New Zealand History

 This Term in the Junior Syndicate we have been learning about New Zealand History. As part of our Inquiry Topic, we had the great opportunity to go on a field trip to MOTAT to learn more about New Zealand History. I class we have learned about a range of different aspects of history such as housing, technology, costumes, automobiles and how they have changed in regards to past, present, and future.

The Tamariki really enjoyed exploring and looking at the different equipment used in the olden days such as the way that they washed clothes, had a bath. They were very fascinated by how they used to conserve water when having a bath.

The Tamariki also enjoyed going on a Tram ride. They really enjoyed listening to the conductor talk about the history of Trams. Overall, it was a really enjoyable day for the children and they learned heaps about New Zealand History. They even got to enjoy an Ice Cream, shouted by their teacher for fantastic behaviour.
