Talofa Lava! This Term at School we celebrated Samoan Independence day. What a beautiful and proud day this was not only for the teachers and tamariki but also for the Whanau's as well. The children took part in Samoan items. Room 16 took part in singing an Samoan song called "va'ai i le pepe". The children came dressed in beautiful traditional attire which was so lovely to see. It was a beautiful day that was enjoyed by everyone that took part.
A student dressed in traditional Samoan Clothes with such a beautiful smile and pride.
Boys from Tewhanau Awhinga doing a traditional Samoan Sasa.
Whaea Kaveeta and few students from Room 16 all dressed up in their traditional attire. Looking beautiful and handsome.
Students doing a traditional Samoan Dance.
Students doing a traditional story and performing a dance.
It is always so nice celebrating all these different cultures at our School and having parents being involved in teaching children dances as well as helping with costumes. What a great day this was.
